Big Spring Clean: Volunteer Litter Pick – Horden

Mon 05 May 2025 - 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Horden Station Area

Litter Free Durham is hosting this year’s Big Spring Clean

Litter is an issue across the world, and County Durham is no exception. Join us and be part in being part of the solution and volunteer to clean our streets and environment. There are many events taking place across the county, giving everyone and anyone the opportunity to get involved.

Last year 4,000 volunteer hours were donated across 450 events in County Durham! We’d love to have an even bigger impact this year.

How You Can Help:

  • Volunteer at one of the many clean-up events across Durham.
  • Bring along friends, family, and neighbours to get involved.
  • Spread the word about these events

Tackling Climate Change Together: By reducing litter and keeping our streets clean, we’re also taking action acting against climate change. Waste that is not properly disposed of can release harmful pollutants into our ecosystems and contribute to global warming. By taking part in a clean-up event, you are helping reduce these risks and promote sustainable practices.

Alternatively, if you would like to organise an event in your local community, you can borrow litter picking equipment from us – just email litterfreedurham@durham.gov.uk.
