An all round inspiring Story of Rewilding and Regeneration Hits Theatres in County Durham
This week, theatres in Durham are hosting showings of an exciting new movie. The film is inspirational, focusing on the future of farming and land restoration, all with climate change in mind.
Based on a bestselling book, Wilding, by Isabella Tree, the story follows a young couple that turns to nature and regeneration to restore the damaged land on their estate, four-hundred-year-old Knepp Estate.
The young couple battle damage to their estate land, but with a dream of farming on the land they dare to place the fate of their farm in the hands of nature. They tear down the fences, allowing the land to return to the wild, and entrust its recovery to a diverse mix of tame and wild animals. It is the beginning of a grand experiment that will become one of the most significant rewilding experiments in Europe.
