Electric Vehicles (EV) and Charge Points

Few things are more topical right now than electric vehicles.

The Government has made no secret of its drive to increase the use of electric vehicles nationwide – in fact it recently confirmed its ambition to see at least half of new cars to be ultra-low emission by 2030 as part of plans to make the UK the best place in the world to build and own an electric vehicle.

So, what are the benefits and, most importantly, can you afford to switch to an electric vehicle?

As demand for this type of vehicle increases and more automotive manufacturers introduce electric vehicles to their range, the cost of purchase will reduce, making owning an electric vehicle much more realistic.

Equally, as investment in charging points across the country increases, longer distance travelling in EVs will be easier to undertake.

EV charging points are popping up everywhere – in County Durham alone there are over 150 charge points where you can charge your vehicle, while we continue to invest in this area so it’s likely more will be introduced in other locations around the county in the coming months.

To learn more about the government’s plans you can read the Road to Zero strategy on the government’s website.
