Have your say and take part in developing our next steps to tackle climate change

We are thrilled to announce that we are working with Climate Action Durham for an upcoming citizens’ forum event. The forum aims to give County Durham residents the opportunity to familiarize themselves with our actions to combat the climate emergency. You will have the chance to ask questions, share comments, and engage in discussions about the progress made, the challenges faced, and provide input to help inform and enhance the actions outlined in the Climate Emergency Response Plan. (CERP)

Your opinion matters to us

We highly value your input and perspective. Currently, we are in the process of developing the next climate emergency response plan which will run from 2024 to 2027. It will follow on from the current comprehensive CERP2 document which outlines the strategies and actions we are taking across various themes to combat climate change both relating to our and countywide emissions. While we can take necessary steps, meaningful change cannot be achieved without your, and partners help.

By participating in this event, you will contribute significantly to our efforts, enabling us to address critical questions that may have not been considered by us. Additionally, your diverse perspectives will help us develop action plans to help us in achieving our goal of attaining net zero by 2045.

More about the event

The event will take place on Tuesday 7 November 2023 at 7.00pm and will be held at Durham Town Hall.

The event will feature facilitated small group discussions covering various topic areas, including transport, education, engagement and behavioural change, food and waste, and heat and energy.

Join us for this exciting opportunity and be part of the discussion shaping the future of our community’s climate action. Reserve your spot now. Note: you are registering with Climate Action Durham, not us.
