NE1 Plant 10 hectares of Council owned land with woodland

Durham County Council manages over 5,000 hectares of land. The Council has identified 10 hectares of land near Barnard Castle that are suitable for woodland planting. Once developed the site is expected to capture over 30,000 tonnes of carbon over 100 years. The site will also provide multiple wildlife and community benefits. To date, the site has been fenced and the ground has been prepared for planting.
