Action Description

Retrofit Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) into current DCC buildings. Two ASHPs have been installed in Durham Pathways and Cotsford sites. There is a further ASHP planned at Crook Civic Centre. We have been unable to install ASHP in Freemans Quay, Durham Gala and Spennymoor Education Centre, this is due to grant income and the costs of installation, versus the amount of carbon savings to cost achieved. Thermal works and hybrid systems need to be considered prior to ensure we have the best solutions for the buildings.

Target

6 upgrades/installs per year

Progress Update

Our plan was to install 6 ASHP . 2 of the 6 have now been completed.
