Action Description

Durham Community Action (DCA) will continue to work alongside Durham County Council’s Business Energy Efficient Project (BEEP) and Low Carbon team to provide support to those responsible for the management of community buildings to reduce their carbon footprint and help to make their buildings more energy efficient.

Progress Update

53 BEEP audits were carried out on community buildings across County Durham: 27 of these have now had Community Buildings Energy Efficiency Grants awarded of approximately £5,000 each . DCA will continue to work alongside DCC's Low Carbon Team to support reduction of the carbon footprint of community buildings e.g. delivery of our Community Buildings Emergency Response Survey, designed in partnership with DCC, to assess emergency preparedness including power and energy preparedness. This fed into Civil Contingency Unit actions, providing deeper insight into energy efficiency needs of community buildings.
